More about this cheese

History & producer
Rogue Creamery, Central Point, Oregon Rogue Creamery began blue-cheese production in 1953 with Oregon Blue, one of America’s early cave-aged, French-style blues. The creamery, founded in Southern Oregon in 1933, now makes this version with certified organic milk.

At the cheese counter
“This is a balanced organic blue—creamy, earthy and versatile enough for boards or cooking.”

In the kitchen
MELTING: Very good – versatile for burgers, pizza, sauces, and vegetables. GRATING: Good when chilled; crumbling is the easiest method. SHAVING: Good when very cold – make short shavings or crumble for easier service.
